welcome (back) to East Lancs and Marple Secret Singers
Welcome (back) to East Lancs and Marple Secret Singers!
A warm welcome from me, Annelie, your new facilitator. For those of you who have not met me before, here’s a little information about me:
I’m 34 years old and live in Sale, South Manchester, with my husband and my cat. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t sing and I’ve been singing in groups since primary school.
In addition to leading East Lancs and Marple Secret Singers I’m also working towards establishing a singing group for English learners in collaboration with Talk English.
I completed the Natural Voice Network’s voice leader training in 2018 and started running singing and vocal improvisation workshops in 2019. From September 2021 – January 2022, I led the u3a Davyhulme’s monthly Singing for Pleasure.
Apart from leading singing sessions, I also work with Afghan nationals, supporting them to settle in the UK.
If you would like to know more, you can like me on Facebook, find me on LinkedIn or subscribe to my YouTube channel.
This summer term we will be returning to old favourites (This is Home, The waters of the world, Deep Down in my Soul) and learning new songs from all around the world. I am particularly looking forward to introducing you to one of my favourite songs, Mravalzhamier (transl. ‘Many happy returns’ or ‘Many years’) from Eastern Georgia.
Both, East Lancs and Marple Secret Singers sessions will resume on Tuesday, 19 April 2022. Session times are the usual ones, you can check them by clicking on the ‘Classes’ tab.
New singers are always welcome. Please call or email me to check whether the session is running on the day you would like to join us.
I can’t wait to sing with you on 19 April!
