Well, we are developing a lovely group of East Lancs Secret Singers at our new venue, Nazareth Unitarian Church in Padiham and the sound we are making is just wonderful! We are having plenty of laughs too as we start to gel together as one group. It has been great to welcome some of the singers from Janet Swan’s old  group and, happily, some new members too. I am very sad though to lose some members who don’t find the new arrangements convenient. We miss them but I always hope we may see them again sometime. The door is always open.

The other good thing is that, so far, no-one has contracted Covid -19 from coming to choir. I am so relieved about that and we will carry on with our precautions as they seems to be working .

We have been invited to sing at the church’s Candlelight Christmas Service on Sunday 19th Dec at 4pm. We will be doing two sets in the service of readings and carols. Everyone is welcome to the service and to view the array of Christmas trees from lots of local organisations which will be on display. So just 4 more sessions to hone the songs!!! It will be great fun.

The Marple group has made a good solid start with a lovely solid core of members attending regularly, actually about 2/3s of the original group is back singing. It would be  lovely to see a few more of the old faces back but I think we will have to do some promotion of the group to attract some extra members too. The good thing is that changing to the upstairs hall has been a good move. It is really large and airy and with plenty of room for lots more singers too!

The Todmorden Group has been a little bit more hit and miss with regard to numbers attending, for various reasons, but when all the regulars are there it has been really lovely singing together again. I live in hope that we will get more of our old regulars singing again and hopefully some new members to swell the ranks. We are very lucky that the room at the Fielden centre is plenty big enough to be safe even as we grow and we can get it well ventilated easily.

It has been a good start to this post lockdown era.
