Saturday 8th July saw a fantastic event at Burwain Sailing club in Foulridge.

Secret Singers had their first massed classes party and sing. All four classes were represented- even Marple (thanks to Clare for making the effort to come all that way) and the newest class in Clitheroe also made a good showing.

We had a beautiful balmy evening with the sun low over the lake and took the opportunity to do the warm-ups outside on the jetty,to the puzzlement of the nearby fishermen! When we got too chilly we retreated into the club house for drinks and a superb Jacob’s Join supper.

After supper, even though we were pretty full, we had ‘a right good sing’. We sang songs from back when we started up to the ‘Sing for Water’ songs and although some of them were taught before some of the members had joined we made a great sound and had a marvellous time . Joining the groups together gave us so much more power and conviction in the singing, it was thrilling!

It was so much fun that we will definitely have to have some kind of joined up event around Christmas too. If you have any ideas please let me know.

It was lovely to see the Sailing Secret Singers again and my thanks to them for the help with the venue and the bar. I hope to see you singing in September
