Carers' chorus (and friends) sing at Healthfest16, Blackburn Cathedral
On Thursday 29th September the Carers’ Chorus will be singing at an event in Blackburn Cathedral which is a celebration of projects and activities which are promoting and improving the health and well-being of the people of Burnley Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and Blackburn with Darwen. The event starts at 10am and continues all day. The choir will be singing at 11.40 and some secret singers have been drafted in to lend a hand too. New Term
Well that is the first week of term done! It was so wonderful to see everyone again and to make a start on this term’s songs. What a joy. All the the groups are now running- Read , Marple, Todmorden and Nelson (and the East Lancs Carer’ Chorus) and new members are most welcome at all of them. Don’t be shy, just come along and get your free trial session.
We are now on a a summer break
Well the Summer Big Sing went really well as usual with great company, a wonderful atmosphere, lovely food and some fabulous singing. A great way to finish the season. The new season will start in the week beginning 12th September and I look forward to seeing all the old members again and to welcoming anyone else who would like to give it a go. Group email lists
Dear Secret Singers, I have just had to have my computer repaired and in the process my group email lists disappeared!! They have been restored but only to where they were about 18 months ago. I have done my best to recreate the full list but I fear that some people will have been missed. if you have not had a message from me dated 09.07.2016 then you have fallen off the list and wont get information on class dates or workshop or performance opportunities. Report on sing for Water North 2016
We had a fantastic day Singing for Water in Albert Sq Manchester yesterday .The weather was a bit challenging and with a spell of heavy downpour resulting in us all (300!) squashing in to a back corridor of the town hall for a fabulous rehearsal in a most amazing acoustic- that was a magical bonus. Spring Break
Wonderful as it is singing with all you lovely people each week I am planning to take a week off during the spring bank holiday week so there will be no class in Marple or Read on Tuesday 31st May Todmorden on Wednesday 1st June Neslon on Thursday 2nd June however, all classes will be back on the following week as usual and I look forward to seeing you all there (and your friends, neighbours, cousins etc too of course!)
A new term of Singing Begins!
Although the school holidays are different all over the place, the Secret Singers Easter break has now finished and all groups are open again this week. It is a great time to join or rejoin as we are about to get cracking on some new songs. We will be learning some songs which will be sung in Albert Square, Manchester on 12th June at the Sing for Water North event. Easter Break dates
My Dear Singers, we have made some wonderful music over these last weeks as this term’s songs have been coming together. We have one more week before my Easter break and I will now be starting to introduce this year’s songs for water so I look forward to seeing you all.
