Sing for Water North in Accrington 2017

We had a super day in Accrington for Sing for Water on June 10th. 150 singers came and we raised £2500 for Water Aid. When you consider that Water Aid say that every £15 gives one person fresh water and sanitation FOR LIFE! This means that in one happy day of singing with singers from choirs across the north west we changed the life of 166 people for ever! Well done everybody. Summer term dates and events and songs

The summer term has got underway very well and we are working on songs for the Sing for Water event in Accrington on 10th June The Street Choirs Festival in Kendal on 23-25th June and our own BIG SUMMER SING  at Burwain Sailing club on Saturday 1st July at 7.30pm There will be no half term break this term as there is so much to fit in  which means that wwe will continue straight through to the Big Sing and then break for the summer until week beginning 5th Sept …

Rupert Everett came to Sing with Todmorden Secret Singers

This morning a channel 4 documentary film making crew came to Todmorden Secret Singers to film us as a background to interviewing one of the members as part of their ‘Fifty Shades of Gay’ project. Rupert Everett was charming and joined in the session right  through from the warm ups to learning the alto part of ‘I am woman’. Easter break and other activities

I am going on holiday at the end of this week, 8th April but there are a couple of exciting things happening in the run up to that. Street Choirs Festival 2017

Here is the information about the Street choirs festival 2017. There will be a Secret Singers groupattending and this is the time to sign up. What we did in the Christmas Season

We have had a good season and I wanted to remind you of the charities we have helped. I am sending a donation of £325 to Medecins Sans Frontieres which is made up of £100 fee from Gordon Riggs, £102 collected from Busking in Burnley and Gordon Riggs and the rest as my pledge to give half of the takings (after rent) from the Todmorden group this last half term -£123. The collectors for Pendleside Hospice in Marks and Spencer’s said that they really mopped up whilst we were singing …

We made a difference!

The Carers’ Chorus, with some help from their associates in Secret Singers, busked at Tesco in Burnley and £400 was collected for Carers Link! what a worthwhile afternoon. Well done and thanks to all who participated- it was fun too!
