The New Term

It has all been very worrying trying to guess how many singers would return and whether it would even be allowed ! In the end I decided to make a big change and establish the new East Lancs. Secret Singers group, an amalgamation of the previous Read and Nelson groups and the East Lancs. Carers Chorus. Thank you to all who came to the summer term’s outdoor sessions. Everyone did really well and we had lots of laughs. lots of you were surprised at how you adapted to singing whilst a bit more spread out, odd at first  but that got better and you got use to relying more on what you could do yourself than on other people. I think that growth in confidence was a very positive thing! have a lovely summer everyone, see you in September. Olwyn x

The summer break will begin after the 20th July and will go on until 20th September. However, that means that we still have 4 weeks of singing left! We have been very lucky with the weather so far so keep your fingers crossed!! So this will be our 3rd week of outdoor singing and it has been a joy to hear everyone. I didn’t realise that you could miss people’s legs so much!!!! (obviously in a totally non creepy way!) Yes, we can sing together again, IN PERSON! Albeit only outdoors but it is a firm step in the right direction. Venues arranged and risk assessments are all done. songs chosen and prepared and a rain jacket for our banner cum word sheet holder has been fashioned (wait til you see it, it’s really something!)
