Secret Singers sessions have now finished for the summer holidays. We are always glad to welcome new members and returning members alike and I look forward to seeing you all then. Members of Secret Singers from all 4 groups met for our summer Big Sing to mark the end of term and to have a big old sing to keep us going until we resume in September. Everyone brought some food to share and, despite my warnings that nobody was feeding everybody and that anything you brought which was not eaten should be taken home, there was still a fair few goodies left to suppliment the lunch of the surprised Saturday sailors. What a wonderful time we had at the Street Choirs Festival! About 40 Secret Singers took part (I am not sure of the exact number because it was like counting a box of frogs!!) and we made a very good showing. All the groups, Read, Nelson, Todmorden and Marple were represented and came together to sing as one choir. We had a great rehearsal for the Mass Sing on Saturday morning and filled the Hope Baptist church with soaring song. We were lead by Carol Donaldson, who leads our own Marple …

This coming Saturday 19th July we are holding our Big Summer Sing as our end of term bash before our summer break. It will be held at Burwain Sailing Club Reedymoor Lane, Foulridge, Colne, Lancs BB8 7LJ and start at 7.30pm All Secret Singers and their guests are welcome. Admission is just £5, there is a bar and everyone is asked to bring some food to share (you don’t have to feed everybody!)
